What Really Happens in a Tarot Reading (and Why I Ask You Nothing First)
A reading is not a verdict on a fixed future. It is a mirror held up to the patterns you are living right now.
The question most readings begin with
Sit down for most readings and the first thing you hear is a question. What's going on? Who is he? What do you want to know?
It feels natural. But it costs something on both sides of the table.
For the reader, it is where bias begins. The moment a reader knows your story, the mind starts building its own picture. Hear "my partner" and it leans towards a breakup. Hear "my boss" and it leans towards a career move. Without meaning to, the reader starts telling your story back to you, with a few cards for decoration.
For you, it leaves a doubt. Even when a reading lands, a quiet voice can say: maybe he only knew because I told him. That voice decides how much of the reading you act on. Guidance you half-trust becomes inner work you half-do.
So I work the other way round. Before a reading I ask you for one thing only: the area of life you would like to look at. Love, career or life path. No background, no details, no questions yet.
When I then name a pattern you never mentioned, you know it did not come from anything you said. There is no story to explain it away. What remains is the pattern itself, and your choice to work with it.
Arriving without your story keeps the reading clean. It also leaves you nothing to explain away.
What a reading actually reads
In the Projector Theory, your life works like a film projector. At the source is the lightbox: pure, unchanging light. In front of it runs the reel, your samskaras, the imprints of old beliefs, judgements and unfinished emotions. What appears on the screen is your daily life: the light, shaped by the reel.
Fortune-telling stares at the screen and tries to guess the next scene. A karmic reading looks behind the screen, at the reel. Which imprints are running in this area of your life? Which loop keeps replaying? Where did it begin? From there we explore what different paths are likely to carry, so your next choice is a conscious one.
That shift matters. A fixed future makes you a passenger. A pattern you can see is a pattern you can begin to work with.
The ancient lens: the world as a reflection
Kashmir Shaivism, the tradition much of my work draws on, describes the world as a reflection appearing within consciousness, the way an image appears in a mirror.

In a reading: the cards are a mirror. They show what is already being reflected, not what must happen.
A mirror does not decide what stands in front of it. It simply shows you, clearly, what is there. That is the role of the cards in this work.
Tarot cards and oracle cards: what's the difference?
A tarot deck has a fixed structure of 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana for the great themes of a life, and 56 Minor Arcana across four suits for its everyday movements. Oracle decks are freer. Each one has its own number of cards, its own images and its own meanings, chosen by the person who created it.

In my readings, the cards are a visual language. The reading itself comes from tuning into your present energy through intuition and psychic vision. The cards give that perception a shape you can see, and an image you will remember long after the call ends.
What happens, step by step
- You choose one area. After booking a 30, 45 or 60-minute reading, you tell me which part of life to look at: love, career or life path. That's all.
- You join from a quiet room. Readings run by video call, so you can join from Singapore or anywhere in the world.
- I read, you listen. I tune into your present energy in that area and read what is there: the pattern, the imprint behind it, and what is moving now. You don't need to explain or confirm anything.
- Then you ask. Up to 2 questions in 30 minutes, up to 3 in 45, unlimited in 60, plus one extra free question on any reading of 30 minutes or more. Most people find their questions have already been answered.
- You leave with a clearer picture. A grounded view of the loop you're in, practical next steps, and the inner work it points to.

What people bring to a reading
You don't need a crisis to book. Most people come because something keeps repeating.
- Love: the same kind of partner, or the same argument, in a different relationship.
- Career: working hard and still feeling unseen, or rising and stalling at the same level again.
- Life path: knowing something has to change, without knowing what or which way.
Different screens, same principle. When the same scene keeps playing, the reel is asking to be seen.
What a reading is not
A reading is not a sentence passed on your future, and it does not take your choices away from you. It is not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. If something you are facing touches your health or safety, please speak with a qualified professional. A reading is a space for reflection and self-awareness. What you do with what you see is always yours.
How to prepare (it's less than you think)
- Choose the one area you want to look at.
- Don't write out your story or a list of questions. If a question is pressing, hold it until the end.
- Find a private room where you won't be interrupted, with a steady connection.
- Keep a notebook nearby for the insights and next steps you'll want to remember.
- Come as you are. Curious, tired or sceptical are all fine.
A one-minute practice before you book
Not sure which area to choose? Let your body answer.
- Close your eyes and take three slow breaths.
- Silently say each word, one at a time: love, career, life path.
- Notice which word your body responds to. A tightening, a warmth, a sigh.
- That response is usually the area that is asking to be seen.
Frequently asked
Do I need to believe in tarot or oracle cards?
No. Think of the cards as a visual language that helps bring up patterns you may already sense intuitively.
Why don't you want to know my situation first?
Two reasons. Your story would steer my reading. And when I know nothing but the area of life, you know that what comes through did not come from anything you told me, so you can trust it enough to act on it. You're welcome to ask everything once the reading is complete.
Is a karmic reading the same as fortune-telling?
No. Fortune-telling tries to predict a fixed future. A karmic reading looks at the patterns and imprints shaping where you stand now, and what different paths are likely to carry, so you can choose consciously.
Can I have a reading online from outside Singapore?
Yes. Readings run by video call, so you can join from anywhere in the world. Prices are in Singapore dollars.
Which session length should I choose for my first reading?
Choose 30 minutes for one area and a couple of questions, 45 minutes to trace a pattern to its root, or 60 minutes to explore several areas with unlimited questions.
How often should I have a reading?
There's no need to come often. Many people return when a situation has shifted or a new season of life begins.
See the reel
You are not the movie. You are the light it's made of. A reading simply shows you which frame is playing.
